Valley Center retains a small-town character that distinguishes it from Wichita proper, but the housing stock spans a wide range - original 1950s homes near Main St, 1970s–80s ranches throughout central Valley Center, 1990s–2000s subdivisions on the east and south sides, and rural acreage properties along the city's outskirts. We work in all of them.
Valley Center Areas We Work In
- Central Valley Center / downtown - older 1950s–70s homes, often with smaller original kitchens that benefit from layout changes.
- Meridian Ave corridor - 1990s–2010s subdivisions with builder-grade cabinets approaching upgrade age.
- Hillside / 85th St acreage - rural properties with custom-built homes, often full custom remodels.
- I-135 east subdivisions - newer construction tract homes.
What's Different About Valley Center Projects
- Permits route through City of Valley Center for in-city addresses, Sedgwick County for rural addresses outside city limits.
- Older Valley Center homes commonly have galvanized plumbing under sinks; we swap these out while cabinets are off the wall.
- Acreage properties sometimes have well water (vs. city water), which affects appliance considerations - water filtration, ice-maker filtering - discussed during design.
- Mixed foundation types - older homes typically crawlspace; newer subdivisions slab.
